Perhaps it is the crème-de-la crème of SSAB: TOOLOX. Remarkable steel with unique properties
TOOLOX is the tool steel of choice, originally developed for the construction of moulds and injection moulds, in short, material forming and forming tools. It also proved exceptionally well suited to other environments where dimensional stability plays an important role.
Material tension-free
What makes TOOLOX special is its unique combination of properties. It is easy to process despite its hardness of 410-475 Brinell. The material is 'naturally' virtually stress-free, making heat treatment afterwards completely unnecessary. Extreme dimensional precision is often crucial in machined end products to ensure close tolerances.
TOOLOX is also extremely temperature-resistant (up to max.590°C), which also makes this steel ideal for use in applications at recycling plants where excessive temperatures are a threat. TOOLOX is widely used in the construction of, for example, mixing vanes, chutes, wear rails, cladding plates, etc.
Geha Laverman processes TOOLOX 44- with plate thicknesses ranging from 6 to 130 mm. Meet this characterful showpiece from SSAB's racing stable, call 075 6539800
